Join our upcoming webinar, Introduction to Finnish ECEC on Thursday 19th February 2026 at 3:00 PM GMT. In Finland, early childhood education forms the cornerstone of a lifelong journey of learning and quality education. In Finland, a stress-free childhood is highly valued. Early childhood education follows a relaxed approach, emphasizing play and activities that align with children’s natural development, rather than adopting a traditional, school-like structure.
Despite this relaxed, non-academic style, Finnish early childhood education effectively fosters exceptional learning skills in children. How is this achieved? Finnish early childhood education specialist, Elena Chukhlantseva, provides an insightful introduction to the fundamentals of Finland’s early education system.

LessonApp had the pleasure of participating in FinFest 2025, held in both Ankara and Istanbul in November 2025. The event, organized with the support of the Embassy of Finland in Ankara and coordinated by N.E.T Academy, brought together a vibrant selection of Finnish edtech companies and introduced them to a wide Turkish audience. FinFest created a dynamic platform where edtech companies, education experts, innovators, and Turkish stakeholders could meet, exchange ideas, and explore possibilities for future collaboration.
The festival took place at the Social Sciences University of Ankara on November 2–3 and continued at Bahçeşehir University in Istanbul on November 7–8. More than 200 Turkish institutions were represented, and the participant group included teachers, school leaders, school administrators, entrepreneurs, and education enthusiasts. In total, hundreds of representatives from both Finland and Türkiye joined the event, making it one of the most significant recent gatherings for cross-border educational cooperation.
Across the world, education systems are working hard to adapt to the rapidly changing demands of the 21st century. As traditional, rote-based models lose relevance, approaches that emphasize creativity, active participation, and learner engagement are becoming increasingly essential. Educators everywhere are searching for practical, easy-to-use tools that help them bring modern pedagogy into everyday classroom practice.
For LessonApp, FinFest offered a valuable opportunity to meet potential users and partners, learn about the needs of Turkish educators, and build meaningful connections with a wide range of stakeholders. The event clearly demonstrated that LessonApp resonates with teachers in Türkiye, supporting them in designing more motivating, interactive, and student-centered lessons. The positive feedback we received confirmed that our approach aligns well with the pedagogical direction many Turkish schools are striving toward.
We are excited to continue the collaborations initiated during FinFest and look forward to deepening our partnerships with Turkish schools, educators, and organizations. The enthusiasm and openness we encountered were truly inspiring.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated, shared insights, and engaged with us throughout the event. It was a pleasure to meet you, learn from you, and imagine the future of education together. Your dedication to shaping meaningful learning experiences in Türkiye is remarkable — keep up the great work!

We believe that it is important that teachers have access to quality pedagogical tools and knowledge in a language familiar to them. Therefore, in addition to the original LessonApp version in English, we have translated LessonApp to four other languages: Spanish, Portuguese, Burmese and Romanian. All the LessonApp features and contents have been available in all these languages except for one thing: the posts in the App’s Home tab.
When creating the second version of LessonApp we decided to include a feed feature on the Home tab. By doing so, we wanted teachers to have easy access to quality professional news and tips. We post new, professionally relevant content there every week: blog posts related to teachers’ work, tips of the week, inspiring lessons and teaching methods etc. We hope that every time our teachers open LessonApp they will find something professionally inspiring to foster their imagination and work.
We are happy that we can now provide these invigorating professional tips and insights in all the languages LessonApp is available! We have implemented AI translations in all the feed posts so that our users can easily access these new ideas and hopefully implement them in their work. This is the first time we have used AI in LessonApp and we would love to hear your feedback!
We are so happy to have a great teacher community around LessonApp. Whenever inspiring and effective lessons are designed and shared publicly in LessonApp, colleagues all over the world can benefit from these fabulous educational ideas. By sharing the best practices and ideas related to teaching we can together provide better learning for children worldwide.
We are always thrilled to check out new lessons created by using LessonApp. We have learned so much about them ourselves! In addition, we follow what kind of methods our users like to use and what kind of new methods they have created.
These methods introduced by our users have inspired us to add new methods, available to all users, to LessonApp too. In the beginning of this year, we screened all the methods in LessonApp and added several new methods. Since we are committed to the methods that are proven to work and align with modern view on learning, these new methods meet those criteria as well. We encourage you to check out, for example Storytelling, The inductive Approach, Online Digital Tools, or Demonstration😊!
We understand that there are still many other great teaching methods around the world. Remember that you can always add your own favorite method to your database by using Create New Method option in Select a Method listing. Happy planning!
LessonApp – as the name suggests – was originally created to help teachers plan high-quality lessons. Obviously, single lessons are not enough and most of the teachers actually plan larger entities: courses, modules, learning units – you name it!
In order to support teachers in planning larger teaching and learning units we created a Unit feature to LessonApp (you will find it under the Create tab together with the lesson planning tool). We tried to make it as simple as possible without compromising all the relevant information.
Unit feature follows the same logic as planning the lesson in LessonApp. You can add existing lesson plans in LessonApp or you can create totally new lessons as part of your unit. Moreover, you can schedule your lessons and add other activities (such as field trips, learning at workplaces etc.) to your lessons. You can also define the assessment of the unit to the plan.
As always, we are searching for solutions that would truly help teachers in their work. We would love to hear how we have succeeded! Please send us feedback here.
